# Quick Start Guide

Setting up and running on Vola Network takes just a few steps. This guide gives you a high-level overview of the process; whether you're setting up a Validation Node or a Storage Node, the path starts here.

This guide covers the expected setup flow. Commands and configuration details may be updated from time to time. If you want to stay up to date, follow Vola's official channels: [Discord](https://discord.gg/qnMSwT3Pvx) [X(Vola)](https://x.com/VolaNetwork) [X(Nuvola)](https://x.com/NuvolaDigital)

### Setup Path

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Meet the Hardware Requirements**

Check that your machine meets the minimum specs for the node type you want to run. Storage Nodes require a public domain and SSL make sure those are ready before you begin.\

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Download the Vola Wallet Extension**

Download and install our [Vola Wallet extension](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/vola-wallet/bobefjjkdijgecmeclailfmnnoiagidp) from the Chrome Web Store and setup your Vola Wallet.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Acquire $VOLA**

Use the [Vola Faucet](https://faucet.vola.network/) to load test $VOLA onto your account. You'll need $VOLA to cover:

* Your staking requirement (based on node type and capacity)
* Your registration fee (Storage Nodes only, based on capacity committed)
* A small amount for transaction fees

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Set Up Your Node**

The setup process differs depending on which node type you're running. Follow the dedicated guide for your node type below, each one walks you through configuration, installation, registration, and going live.

{% endstep %}
