# Incentivized Testnet

Node operators who participate in the Vola testnet and provide confirmed capacity will earn $VOLA rewards. This is Vola's way of recognizing and compensating the operators who bootstrap the network's infrastructure before mainnet. Taking on the early work of keeping the chain running, storing files, and proving the network works at scale.

### How to Participate

Joining the Vola testnet is straightforward. If you've read through the node documentation and have your hardware ready, you're most of the way there.

**Make sure you have the node staked and active.**

Everything you learn and configure during testnet carries forward, with minimal changes.

### Who Qualifies

Testnet incentives are exclusively for node operators, participants who run and maintain active nodes during the testnet period.

**Confirmed participation requires a registered, staked, and active node**.\
Validation Nodes must produce blocks consistently. Storage Nodes must submit proofs and maintain uptime throughout the testnet period.

### Testnet Incentives

Incentive amounts will be intentionally announced at TGE (Q3/Q4 2026).

Publishing exact reward figures in advance creates incentives for farming, operators spinning up nodes purely to capture rewards rather than to genuinely contribute to the network. By announcing amounts at TGE based on confirmed participation data, Vola ensures that rewards go to operators who actually contributed, not those who gamed the system.

**If you run a reliable node throughout the testnet period, you will be rewarded fairly for your contribution.**
